IMAGE TO MINECRAFT PIXEL ART

A picture. A palette.
Your next build.

This free Minecraft pixel art generator turns an uploaded image into a flat block layout. Each pixel becomes one concrete or wool block, with an exact count of the materials you need. Use the image as a preview and the numbered grid as your placement guide.

  1. Choose a clear source image. Logos and simple characters work well at 32–64 blocks wide. Photos usually need a larger grid to keep faces and fine details recognizable.
  2. Pick a size and block palette. Start small and check the total block count. A filled 64 × 64 image already needs 4,096 blocks. Concrete gives a flatter look; wool has a softer texture.
  3. Download your Minecraft build guide. Grid cells contain material numbers that match the legend and CSV. Columns run left to right; row 1 is the bottom of the build. Empty cells stay empty.

Plan signs with Minecraft banner letters, check banner patterns and materials, or map a rounded footprint with the Minecraft circle generator.

Minecraft pixel art generator FAQ

How do I convert an image to Minecraft pixel art?

Upload a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF, choose the width in blocks, and select concrete, wool or both. The Minecraft image converter matches each image pixel to a block color. Download the numbered grid and materials list to build it row by row.

Is this Minecraft pixel art generator free?

Yes. Image conversion, PNG downloads, the numbered build grid and the materials CSV are free, with no account or watermark. Images are processed in your browser.

Which Minecraft blocks can I use?

Choose the 16 concrete colors, the 16 wool colors, or a combined 32-block palette. The preview uses average colors sampled from Java 1.21.4 block textures. Actual appearance varies with lighting and resource packs.

Can I use the build guide in Java and Bedrock?

The grid is a manual placement guide using concrete and wool blocks available in both editions. Each cell represents one block. It does not depend on commands, mods or automatic world imports.

Can I download a schematic or Litematica file?

This version exports a PNG image, a numbered PNG build grid and a CSV materials list. It does not export .schem, .schematic or .litematic files. Follow the grid to place blocks manually.

Is this a Minecraft map art converter?

This tool plans a flat block mural viewed directly, such as a wall or floor. It does not create map-item artwork, map.dat files, Minecraft skins or 3D models.

What size should I choose for my Minecraft pixel art?

Start with 32 or 64 blocks wide for a small logo or a simple character. Use 128 or 256 for more detail. The aspect ratio is preserved, with both dimensions limited to 256 blocks. The tool shows the actual dimensions and material counts before you download.

How are transparent pixels handled?

Transparent and mostly transparent pixels are left empty and excluded from the materials list. Other pixels are matched to an opaque block. GIF uploads use a still frame rather than an animation.
