A LITTLE LETTERING. A LOT OF CHARACTER.
Pixel Art Text Generator
Type a word, pick a tiny font and give it a color of its own. Make crisp retro lettering for your next game, banner or project.
A few words, all yours.
Type English letters, digits and basic punctuation.
Start with something to say.
This pixel art text generator draws letters on a real bitmap grid. Choose the 5×7 Classic or 3×5 Compact alphabet, adjust spacing and alignment, and add a one-cell outline or a two-cell shadow. Every output pixel is drawn without font smoothing.
- Type up to four lines of English text, with 40 characters per line. Lowercase letters become uppercase.
- Choose a bitmap font, letter spacing and alignment. Set the text color, background, outline and shadow.
- Choose a whole-number pixel scale and download the PNG. Turn on Transparent background to make lettering you can place over other artwork.
For a new image-based design, start with the pixel art maker. For a full-size mosaic, use Pixelate image.
BEFORE YOU MAKE
Your project questions.
Is this text-to-image AI?
No. It renders the characters you type using two fixed bitmap alphabets. It does not turn a written prompt into a picture.
Which characters are supported?
The fonts include English A–Z, digits, spaces and basic punctuation: ! ? . , : - _ apostrophe / + ( ) &. Unsupported characters show an error rather than disappearing.
Can I download a transparent PNG?
Yes. Enable Transparent background. Outline and shadow are included in the exported image, but the preview checkerboard is not.
Can I make a multi-line pixel logo?
Yes. Use up to four lines, then choose left, center or right alignment. Lettering is limited to 40 characters per line.
Can I download a font file?
This tool creates PNG lettering. It does not create or export a TTF, OTF or installed system font.
Do I need to upload anything?
No. Text rendering and export happen in your browser. There is no account requirement or image upload.
